Don't act like you're not ****ing reading the BS articles saying HBO only wanted Martinez to fight Williams and were rejecting every other opponent DiBella wanted.

Who the **** mentioned Floyd anyway? Stop being a butt hurt ***** and look at the evidence.
    Save the name calling.

You skipped this part of the post.

Where is the Sturm contract now? Where is the Dzizniruk contract? Why slow ass one dimensional Angulo?

    Why?

Sturm, Williams, Mosley and a few others were on the list he gave to HBO, and the name they chose was Williams. That's not up to him. If he wasn't entertaining fighting a boxer, then why did he put Sturm on the list? And why did he call out Floyd Mayweather, the best boxer in the world? What is he gonna do, have an independent PPV with the guy you want him to fight? HBO chose Williams, and that's that. Why won't Williams sign the contract? Dzinziruk has an opponent, so there's no reason why that fight shouldn't happen. He's out of options. And Williams would probably beat Dzinziruk anyways, so its a better matchup for Martinez, especially seeing how they had a close, controversial fight last year. If he doesn't fight and his next opponent isn't Floyd, then I don't even know what to say...

Martinez is so damn overrated on this site. Good fighter yes. God, no.

He is not above criticism. Man up and fight Sturm or Dzinziruk. Enough of the Pavliks, Angulos and Maragrito's of the world.

I have seen no evidence of him "ducking styles".

Would be nice if he fought Sergiy, but this guy needs to make a name for himself he is an unbeaten world champion with nearly 40 fights and I have seen him fight about 2 times.

How can they offer contracts to people that were in promotional limbo not to long ago?

Sturm hasn't fought in more than a year because of it and is going to shake the rust off against Lorenzo... Forget about the fact that he got a gift against Gevor in his last fight.

Dzinzurik was in the same boat with Universum and just got off it. Let alone the fact that a fight against him is worth ****.

Where do you think the money is coming from though?

How do you think someone like Martinez who can't draw much of an attendance in the US can offer Angulo (who's not a huge draw himself) $750K?

HBO puts up the money and picks the fights as they please... What makes you so sure they would want Martinez-Dzinzurik, let alone offer a good purse to both?

What do you mean one style? Pav and Perro maybe.

Other than Dzin ( who IMO is not really solid boxer ), who would you have him face than is not "similar" to the 4 boxers that you mentioned? IMO, those 4 names have a healthy blend of styles just missing a Bhop/Floyd type of fighter. But I don't see anyone ot 154-160 that has that style. Pirog maybe "shoulder roll then toe-to-toe". Lolz.

Real question is why didn't Williams fight Pavlik and not rematch Martinez? I'll give him credit for fighting Cintron although he didn't look so hot while it lasted.

He's only rated as high as he is because a lot of people scored him beating a top 5 p4p fighter. A guy who many believe can beat Pacquiao and Mayweather. That's a big accomplishment. Just look at where Williams was last year. People saw him as the most avoided fighter in the world, and believed Pavlik has been ducking for a while. But then another fighter came out of nowhere and outboxed him (no matter who you scored it in favor of, he did outbox Williams).

The only point I'm trying to make is that he is not scared to fight boxers. He's under contract with HBO, and they chose Paul Williams. But let's not pretend Felix Sturm, Vanes Martirosyan and Sergio Mora weren't on that list. I also have an article from before that where he mentions he wanted to fight Floyd more than anyone. The guy's probably got one or two good years left in him, and fighting Dzinziruk certainly isn't gonna accomplish as much as wins over Shane Mosley (who wants to fight him if he beats Mora) or Paul Williams, who is a top 5 p4p fighter. Even Sturm would be better.
