just checked wiki and it seems shaq has never won a challenge so the idea of this show is to show that no matter how big strong athletic you are you cant win vs a pro..

it'll be utterly embarrassing if shaq beat these professional athletes in their own game especially when shaq had only trained in their respective sport for only days.

i think the main idea was for shaq to at least be competitive and to inspire kids to pursue the sports they love (and also, obviously for shaq's entertainment value).
