Alexander Povetkin has been on a downhill spiral ever since hooking up with that nutcase Teddy.

He needs to part ways with him ASAP, or his career will be ruined.

Which means that Wlad is ducking Povetkin to fight Peter!!! Shame on you Wladimir.
Ha ha, that's freakin' hilarious. I wouldn't doubt that some Wlad-hater would actually say that. You are on a roll.

I didn't know, Povetkin is just wasting time.

I read a really sad story a year or so ago about how Teddy Atlas messed up Michael Grant's head so bad that the guy is just now getting over it. Atlas worked hard to convince Grant he was a broken Humpty Dumpty that only Teddy Atlas could put back together. Grant said Teddy emasculated him and derided his abilities constantly, until he totally lost confidence. Personally, I think Teddy is a nutcase who, consciously or subconsciously, wants to destroy HIS OWN fighters. One minute, there was Povetkin, taking bows at the Tua-Barrett fight as Wlad's next opponent; next minute, Teddy's yanked him out of the payday of his life, most likely, to fight Bruce freakin' Seldon. If Povetkin ends up punchy, drinking cheap vodka in a Sheepshead Bay nightclub while moaning "I coulda been a contenda" in Russian, he will have Teddy Atlas to thank.

When I read this I couldn't even believe it. Povetkin's career is over, and I knew it the minute he said Atlas would be his trainer.

The only thing I can see is that he's got serious promotional issues and coupled with k2 demands getting beat up by wlad isn't worth the short in the long. To think Teddy Atlas doesn't have povetkins interest at heart is wrong, if it all works out remains to be seen. Povetkin is an olympic gold medalist with mountains of upside. But let's face it right now he loses to wlad, loses to vitali, and would be life and death with Haye.

This fight was about as useful as Roach hiring Matthew Hatton as a sparring partner to prepare Manny for Floyd lol

This is one of the oddest things I've seen happen in boxing in a long time. Alexander Povetkin fought in July, exhibition or not, and we didn't know until just now? Very bizarre. I'm an Atlas fan, and I can't pretend to know an iota about boxing that he does, but I don't see where he was going with this.

Teddy needs Povetkin to work on certain things and if it happens out of the limelight then so be it.
