As a trainer, Steward should like the idea of a tune up fight. It gives him more time to work with his Champ and it gives Cotto more time to settle at that weight class.
Maybe we can contribute with the exploitation of the name of El Gran Campeon Cezar Chavez by retiring the name once for all. No more cheesee mispresentation of Cezar Chavez works out just right to me.

Puerto Ricans have been American citizens since 1917 why do you think they can go to and from the United states without a passport or any papers.

I like this fight. It will prove if Chavez Jr. is the real deal or not and it won't (at least I don't think it will) be too tough of a fight for Cotto.

I think Cotto has too much experience for Chavez but I am interested to see how this fight will play out.

dude, it's all about THE MONEY. bob arum has to place in a a venue where his cash cow ( in this c ase is cotto ) would bring in the most fans. and that is NY. chavez jr is no where near a draw like miguel is, miguel is the superstar in this fight so CHAVEZ jr has to accomodate to miguels terms.

and im a cotto fan but i gotta admit it's not fair for bob to make chavez go to 154, that's totally unfair for that kid.
