There are degrees. He's obviously supremely talented and a Hall of Famer, but, depending on how you delineate the standards of an All Time Great, his legacy may be lacking. His name doesn't hold the same historical panache as an Ali or a Louis or a Robinson or a Leonard or what have you - for a variety of reasons, some of which are and are not his fault.

i don't think boxing will have anymore legit all time greats. from here on out its only gonna be manufactured hype greats like canelo or chavez jr. basically the britney spears of boxing. guys that are never tested but are popular. they will pick and choose their opponents so carefully that they will almost never lose. they will pick up a bunch of crappy belts and beat a bunch of faded fighters and eventually people will believe they are really great. the joe calzaghe blueprint except instead of hiding out to do it they are doing it right in front of our eyes on hbo.
