Should Juan Diaz Retire From Boxing?

I know he's only 26, but age dosen't determine when a fighter is past his best. Juan was the undisputed LW champion, made alot of $$$ out of the game, and will be remembered as a real exicting warrior.

But I feel he is really on the decline, he's 2-4 in his last 6. And for the most part he always invovled in hard fights, which take a toll.

Should he retire, and just go into law full time, and enjoy his life and health?

Has The Baby Bull ever had a tune up fight? I say give him 2 or 3 tune ups to see how he looks after those against another top guy. Diaz, wether he retires or not, will be remembered as a real warrior that always comes to fight. I would love for him to hook up with Roach and Ariza.

That dude looked like a P4P fighter at the beginning of his title run.

He just doesn't have it anymore.

He also has a tight job lined up at a law firm if he gets out. Why would he stay in when he doesn't have it anymore?

He's only 26, he has atleast 4 to 6 years left in him at which he should be able ti compete at a high level. My opinion is that he should take off 1 to 2 years and try to rebuild himself, maybe change trainers. He severly lacks power, has a very open defense and has the take some to give some attitude. Fix those problems and hell be back to world class level.

Why the hell should he retire? He lost against some of the best p4p fighters. Nobody expected him to beat JMM

Nate Campbell and Paulie Malignaggi are a different story though.

Naturally, he is having a tough time of late. I think he needs to revaluate himself including the people who are around him. Maybe he needs to try a new trainer including a fitness trainer that can put a bit more power into his feather fisted hands.

If Diaz had some power, he would have knocked out or at least knocked down Marquez in those last few rounds. Marquez had gassed by then and looked vulnerable.

Diaz is still young and his physique can change for the better, especially if he adds the right people to help him out.

One thing that does concern me is that Diaz appears to be a bit chinny.

He could keep going but I don't think he can compete at the highest level. Diaz has taken too much damage to work that "baby bull" style anymore and him becoming a good enough technical boxer to beat the best in the world with that style seems unlikely at this stage and with what attributes he has.
