ANDRIY KOTELNIK
I just finished watching the fight...
Andriy much respect! dude is really good real sharp well schooled... he just needs more pop and risk a little bit he had devin hurt a lil bit a few times... he fought a perfect gameplan but i think he should have fought more of an inside game...then we might be waking to something different...
Devin I have allot of respect for his attitude...
first major point...HE NEEDS A NEW TRAINER. NOW!
" look, you gotta box man" in the latter rounds is not quality ring advice. He never told him to forget about the head and go to the body. He never told him to tighten up his punches inside, he never told him to throw a hook to counter the jab. He never told him to step in with a high jab, feint the jab, step in with the straight left down the pipe. He never told him that Andriy can't fight with pop going backwards... that could have been a game plan even before the fight!
Andriy stood up straight against flurries of punches. a great way to land some power shots is to pitterpat and then Alex could have finished with a manny pac style left hook right down the middle. Use his legs to get out.
Too many flaws on one side and not enough effort on the other.... I had the fight allot tighter on the score cards but Devin still won... but in my eye's this could still count against him.
Devin B+

Andriy CORNER B+
Is it wasn't for Devin's great conditioning... who knows. but he did win on heart, not skill. If i where Devin I would make good with Andriy and spar with him from time to time, like Froch does with Pascal, Devin still has allot to learn that speed an power can only take you so far!
side note.
Is it not siiiick that the 140 lbs division is now called the super seven! like back in the day when Hagler, Hearns, Leonard, and Duran where called the fantastic 4 of their division!
floyd pac who ?!!? jk
