Watched Alexander vs Kotelnik again this moring (while sober) my boy looked terrible.

People forget that Alexander is 22 years old and still developing. It also looked like he took Kotelnik lightly since he came in to All I do is Win, which to me was a sign of overconfidence.

Alexander needs to give Kotelnik a rematch quick, and show us it was more of him fighting the wrong fight than vice versa, just like Dawson did last year.

The fact that Devon is young is not lost on me, but people were calling him the future of the sport (future P4P king and such)...The future doesn't look to bright at this point...

You are right though, a rematch is in order, and fast!!!!!!

Alexander had a basic European fighter in front of him and it's Alexander who made Calzaghe look like Bob Foster. Kotelnik isn't garbage, but he isn't a world beater either.

though he looked disappointing, i still think he has a bright future.

i like him as a fighter, and he seems like a genuinely good dude. i hope the best for him.

Bad comparison though. Dawson was the counterpuncher in that fight and Johnson was the attacker.

Like I said before, counterpunchers tend to do better in rematches. He should stay away from Kotelnik if he knows whats good for him.

all fighters (young or not) have these sorta hiccups. it happens. he'll be alright.

A lot of the stuff that looked to me like they were finding the mark were grazing shots or being deflected. Alexander just threw so many damn punches from the outside that was hitting gloves and shoulders that it won him rounds at timse. I still think that Alexander taking the majority of the early rounds is what did not allow Kotelnik to win the fight, but after watching it again I scored it 6 rounds a piece and did not see a clear winner. Alexanders late flurries seemed to have swayed scoring.

That said I have to give it up to Kotelnik. Alexander has fought a few good fighters, and I have never seen him look bothered let alone be in a fight where his opponent could have been given a win.

In addition ALL fighters have bad fights, and Kotelniks style gave Alexander fits that a lot of other fighters will not. This fight reminded me a lot of Dawson vs Johnson one, with the faster more mobile fighter electing to trade, and moving back rather than circling in the process taking more shots than they should have.

I think an immediate rematch is in order here, and Don King should set up that fight now.

I agree 100%. Alexander looked pretty bad, but on sheer volume he won the first four rounds. I had it 6-6 even, but I could have seen either fighter winning. I knew who would win with those crooked ass Don King judges, but it was an ugly fight last night.

That's cool, and I hope you are right. He lost that fight last night though...

If head doesn't make some drastic changes in his game (head movemont, pulling straight back, not knowing how to deal with pressure, or in-fighting), he will lose to top comp.

Khan got iced in 1. Bradley won his fight with Holt despite the k'ds.

This fight was a 12 round prolonged exposure.

Again, bad comparison.
