Don't they want the public to hear from the "Evil Russians" lol.
Why didn't HBO interview Kotelnik or Pirog?

i imagine kotelnik was so disgusted he probably walked out of the ring and didn't want to be interviewed
what do you expect from a network that won't broadcast heavyweight champions because they are not american (or david haye)
i'm starting to see HBO for the bull**** it is nothing can touch those days with Lampley Merchant and Roy Jones/ Geroge Foreman they called fights properly
to be fair i thought kellerman was ok last night though for once -
As much as it may break Europeans hearts, truth is HBO doesn't care about most of your fighters. They should of interviewed Pirog because I feel that they would want him to fight again on their network but a guy like Kotelnik, they have no intention to bring him back. Unless the fighter is a downright sick talent, the only reason HBO will have them on their network is to showcase one of their American talents. It makes sense, HBO is here to make money just like any company and there is no way any run of the mill Eastern European going to make HBO money. Boxing is just as much of a business, as it is a sport so suck it up. Americans aren't interested in those type of fighters.Comment

Naw, I am a fan of the sport so I would of liked to see the interview with Pirog especially(he seems that he can be a real player in his division). With that said, I'm not like the typical fan, most people don't care about fighters outside of their country. To be pissed at HBO though is a bit re**** imo because it isn't HBOs job to promote the sport. It is their job to promote their pocket books and their network ratings. If that means interviewing these guys so be it but it's pretty obvious that HBO didn't see any reasons to do so.Comment

HBO is just not going to do much for European fighters, that just is reality. Sure, every so often a real exciting, talented fighter like Khan they will kiss up to but Amir Khans don't just grow on trees. HBO just has been burned to many times when they put any attention on European fighters. Take for example Kessler V Calzaghe, big fight wouldn't you think but no, not in America. That fight did very poorly and almost any fight showcasing a European has done very poorly with the American audience. HBO has no intentions in building any European talent that wouldn't be looked at as out of this world(Khan, Bute type talents).Comment
