hehe lets both cross our fingers so he wins by stoppage. I will say though when i bet on a certain fighter it kinda jinxes them.. so ill apologize in advance
damn I wish you hadn't said that now I'm getting a bad feeling .....
Were I to have any say on Cotto's future, I'd draw a career path that takes him through (after Bailey) Ener Julio, Hurtado, Chop Chop, ZJudah, SMitchel, Gatti, VHarris, Hatton.
By the time my man is through with those guys, Kostya will be easy picking (age?); then, PBFloydd...
Then, we'll move up to Welterweight to meet whoever may have whichever crown or crowns at the time...
But, first thing's first, we'll have to get past Bailey...and Randall has been taken out only once (by Hurtado, in Puerto Rico, my man's home!)....! That Bailey, has the best KO rate (27 of 28 wins!) in the division!
And, this year...huge names have fallen to the way-side! Tyson, Roy Jones...! It's an up-set plagued year!
Oh, well, I'm never gonna have any say on Cotto's career.... So, those are other people's problems!
There is no need for him to fight Julio and Hurtado is at 147 now. I can see a chop-chop fight if he can't secure a major fight but he should be looking for Mayweather, Gatti, Harris, Hatton, KZ, or maybe even Sharmba for his next fight.
As for Judah, even though he is a lefty I think Cotto is too quick on his feet for Judah and would KO the clown by round 8.
Cotto should KO Bailey inside of 8. At least that's what my gut is telling me, and that 600K bet I put on my boy.
I think (barring no setbacks) Cotto should be ready for the top four 140 pounders after this fight. Corley wouldn't really show Cotto anything that he hasn't already seen so I wouldn't anticipate any fight between them. I want to see Cotto fight the second most dangerous guy in the division, Vivian Harris. That'd be a hell of a fight.

Actually, chop-chop would be Cotto's first southpaw so he does need the experience. The same goes with Sharmba but he is slicker and would be both the southpaw and boxer experience he needs.
I agree Bailey was dangerous about 3-4 years ago, but you know what they say about the last thing to leave a boxer....his power, given a ***** he may land, and if he lands he generally lands big....then we'll see what Cotto's chin is like.
Cotto is overwelming fav and should get it done inside the distance but it is the year for upsets! Put it this way i wouldn't have my mortgage on it!

Cotto KO 7 in this one.
I guess I should have done my musings in the fantasy threads?
Anyway, fat chance that I'd have any say in any of what Cotto would do: in the immediate or far future.
Whether the prospects of fighting Hurtado and Julio or Judah are slim or none existent...All I can say is, stranger things have happened in boxing.
Oh, well, like I said, I'll never get a chance to guide Miguel's career.
Maybe I just wanted Kostya to be old enough...? And Mayweather too?
+++++++
Just for the record, I laid out 200gs for Cotto by KO
