Pacquiao Allows Cheater to Prosper
What an outrageous travesty that Antonio Margarito be awarded a huge payday against Manny Pacquiao so soon after his disgraceful attempt at loading his gloves against Shane Mosely. And why has Pacquiao and his camp acquiesced so meekly to a matchup in which Top Rank has everything to gain and Pacquiao so much to lose?
Pacquiao, and every other top fighter for that matter, should want nothing to do with a proven cheater like Margarito. Had Margarito been caught with the plaster of Paris after the fight, it would have warranted a lifetime ban and perhaps even criminal charges. The fact that he was busted before the fight made it a lesser offense that carried a lesser penalty, but it doesn’t diminish the heinous intent of the act.
Submissively allowing Bob Arum to dictate all the terms of the fight will compromise Pacquiao’s image outside the ring by handsomely rewarding a known offender, not to mention his safety inside the ring by agreeing to fight for a bogus vacant 154-pound belt. He has no business remaining at 147, let alone moving up to face much naturally-bigger and -stronger fighters, when there is no shortage of deserving challengers at 140 the likes of Juan Manuel Marquez, Timothy Bradley, Marcus Maidana and Devon Alexander.

Not the first and will not be the last time. I too hate that Margo the cheat probably hurt Cotto's career due to those bricks ..... but now Margo did his time and it appears that they will allow him a second chance.

Look at Tyson. He was a convicted criminal that hurt people outside the ring and bit fighter's ears inside the ring. He was given several chances because of who he was. I'm sure nobody thought about that when guys like Lennox gave Tyson a chance to fight him.


Look at Floyd who said he wanted to clean up the sport. What did he do? His first fight after that statement he fought someone (Mosley) who admitted taking PEDs. Kind of funny way of showing what he preaches in that his first fight was against an admitted cheat who did no time for his cheating.
