Now how the hell could any one give that fight to Kotelnik? I'm not even an Alexander fan at all. But he won that fight. Props to Kotelnik though but he got outworked by Alexander. Like in Floyd fights, Floyd is far from busy and he's very accurate but he also makes his opponent be even less busier than him. Kotelnik on the other hand was very accurate and not busy and not doing anything to smother Alexander or make him stop throwing that many punches. You can't lose a fight if you throw over 1000 punches unless you opponent throws more. In this case Kotelnik wasn't even close to Alexander's work rate.
If you miss 500 of those punches, it's no different than having thrown only 500. A missed punch is as good as not having thrown one. If you then block 300 of those punches, it means you have not been very effective at all. If your opponent then throws about 400 or so and lands 300 and they are hard, effective clean shots....It really evens itself out no?
Or do you think a missed punch means something in boxing? If you only land 200 punches of 1000 thrown and actually miss about 500 of those completely then you have only thrown 500 punches that can be counted at all. If you the have 300 blocked, it renders only 200 genuinely effective. If your opponent throws 300 hard, clean, effective shots that land then he has still thrown more counted shots, even if he actually about 600 less.
A landed punch means everything. A missed punch absolutely nothing. If you have a strategy to land anywhere on the body to slow your opponent down, that's cool. It wasn't his strategy though and he got hit with more clean, hard, effective shots.
I think people are forgetting how boxing works as usual. The guy who rants out the rules before each fight, Lederman, forget it the most.
Clear inability to score fight? Oh shut up I had Alexander winning so I have an inability to score fights? You had Froch beating Direll ffs. Stay on topic or go to another thread.
No....you stay on topic. You had the fight the same score as Khan-Kotelnik. Thats absolutely ****in embarrassing. Khan dominated Kotelnik and Alexander shouldve lost.
