I know Roger Mayweather has stated over a million times the best boxers in the world come from the midwest. I think New York produced tons of great champions Tyson, Judah, and Jake Lamotta. Mexico and Puerto Rico also have tons of great champs so where do you think the best boxers come from?

If you're talking about volume of great boxers...
On a per capita basis, Cuba and Puerto Rico are historically just ridiculous.
Mexico --despite it's large population-- is up there too.
If you're talking about geographic origin of, say top 20 ATG...
Well, it's easy to look up.Last edited by horge; 08-07-2010, 03:18 AM.Comment

If you go by region NY, CA, PR, Los Mochis, and Michigan would probably beat out any other place.
In the last few years, California has produced tons of champs and at least 2 Hall of Famers (De La Hoya and Mosley) and a bunch of titlists (Ward, Bradley, Donaire, Guerrero, etc.). If we talk about who trains/lives there the list would be pretty huge.Comment

No need to give props to the entire Midwest when they're all from the same state (Michigan).Comment
