Comments Thread For: Beibut Shumenov Targets Chad Dawson, Tavoris Cloud

WBA light heavyweight champion Beibut Shumenov is targeting the other champions in his division. He predicts IBF champion Tavoris Cloud will beat Glen Johnson later tonight in St. Louis, and next Saturday IBO champion Chad Dawson will unify by beating WBC king Jean Pascal in Canada. Shumenov is targeting a ring return for December. He will attempt to land either Cloud, or Dawson, [should they win] for December.

He should target giving Campillo his belt back.

Shumenov proved he is willing to fight every one (in his division) regardless of risk. If he fought Campillo and Uzelkov , no doubt he is willing to fight Cloud and Dawson who hold titles.
The question is whether Cloud and Dawson are willing to take on someone good their own age.
Shumenov seems to know the way for future public recognition and proving one's greatness is fighting the best even when the money is not the best.
Cloud called out Dawson by asking him to fight fighters his own age , but is he willing to do it himself ?

Shumenov will make for a lot of exciting fights. He's not very talented and is fortunate to be the champion, but he keeps throwing wide power punches and does so throughout the entire fight.

Props to him for his ambition. Chad Dawson is really out of everyones level in the division and can be called THE champion of the division, but I'd like to see how Shumenov matches against him. Dawson will likely outbox him to a possible shutout on the cards, but the division needs some good fights being made.

            Doesn't get any more ignorant.

Tarver has the IBF belt, he chose to have a voluntary defense against Dawson. The contract contained an immediate rematch clause if Tarver were to lose. He did and he enforced it.

Dawson had to either rematch Tarver or get taken to court and had his career tied up.

Tavoris Cloud was offered a televised slot on the Dawson-Tarver II rematch on HBO where he would have fought Glen Johnson for a career high payday and faced Dawson in his next fight for another career high payday with the only stipulation that he not enforce his mandatory and get Dawson stripped.

He declined, enforced his mandatory, and got Dawson stripped. Instead, he fought Woods on an FNF undercard for less money.

Now, he's fighting Glen Johnson almost 2 years later... His career is now 2 years and hundreds of thousands (possibly millions) of dollars behind where it could have been. But hey... at least he has a title and dopes saying Dawson's ducking him.

he improved a lot from his last camplillo fight
he actually used the jab(people forget that the first fight with camplillo was competative and in the second one he just would not use his jab and use only power shots) so i think he should fight campillo for the third time and close this whole scandal thing and i think he can beat him if he just applies the jab.
i think he gets outboxed by dawson right now,
i think he should fight Chris henry(talk about fireworks) or cloud(this will be slug fest)
or try to take on glen johnson which will be a very good test for him, but first he should take care campillo

                    I agree.

I don't know about Cloud, but Dawson exposes Shumenov. Dawson should easily be able to time that "bark" of Beibuts.
