Will they pay margs step aside money to allow pac-may?

If Floyd really wants Pac since he now has Don King, will he be willing to pay step aside money to Margarito who was going to be Pac's next opponent? I am sure that Arum may also put some of that together if he can get his dream fight.

I am not sure it will have an impact on the margs-pac fight, as maybe Floyd still won't fight Pac anyhow. But on his Twitter acct, he showed the contract which was a $100 million letter of intent.

Why would they pay him step aside money when they don't have a contract for a fight and didn't spend money on promoting Pac vs. Margacheato?

Because sometimes if there is a verbal agreement in principal it can be challenged in the courts. Step aside money was paid to Lewis when he didn't have a contract with Tyson, Lewis also took step aside to relinquish the IBF title so Holyfield and Byrd can fight each other.

It just used to shut up the fighter and be in good terms with them.

But both fighters are under Top Rank and how can you have an agreement for a fight when a fighter doesn't even have a license, have no date for the fight, have no venue, no promo tour, etc.

Unless Pacquiao has actually signed a contract, no need to pay anyone step aside money.

I doubt Arum will just scrap Pacquiao-Margarito and lose what could be an almost double digit cut, to make Pacquiao-Mayweather for close to the same cut.

Margarito may not have a license in the states, but he fought in Mexico recently and wouldn't have a problem fighting there again. The implied date for the fight was Nov 13 and that was pretty much conveyed to the media.

A verbal agreement is valid even if it is same promotional company, its an agreement between a fighter providing a service or an action in exchange for money or consideration.

Its definitely not a clear cut breach case, but i am sure if Top Rank won't give margs a fight for the vacant title that margs wouldnt be happy and seek relief for breach.

But as i said this is all maybe null and void, as i think May-Pac is still a long shot for this year. may said he is not thinking about boxing, so i take him for his own word.

No, not enough time and Arum would like to punish Mayweather by making him wait till he is ready for the fight to happen
