So julio going back to jmw?I dont think thats healthy for him.
Why not? I think when he got caught using diuretics it was the result of having a crappy team of yes men that were probably trying to take the lazy way out instead of doing hard work. I think that was less healthier for him.
Now with the new team of Roach and Ariza they seem to be really pushing him. Students always work to the level of expectation that is set for them. Whether or not he'll be able to beat Cotto is another question, but at least he'll be in top shape. I wouldn't mind this fight at all.
I hope HBO some kinda way forces Cotto to fight a tougher opponent if they are gonna allow him on their network the next fight. Why is he being held to different standards?

HBO is only interested in selling fights not looking for the tougher opponent, it might be sad but the truth is that Chavez Jr in Texas will bring more to the table for Cotto and HBO than, Martinez, Angulo, Willams and even Berto, Because of the fan base of each fighter and the Mexican-PuertoRican rivary.
The only boxers that can sell more for HBO facing Cotto will be Margarito, Pacman and PBF and the 1st two will fight each other and PBF, well who knows????
You might already know this but your hate against Cotto makes you blind as usual!!!

Milking the Ricans. Same **** Arum does with Jr and Mexicans.

They have been asking for Chavez Jr. and Top Rank to step up his opponents level and when they finally do, now it's a joke and it should not happen!!!
exactly, finally jcc jr. is stepping up and now people dont want him too. cotto is shot, not what he use to be and some suggested that he take another easier fight instead of rushing back into a big fight but now they want him to fight williams, angulo, martinez, etc. i dont mind this fight as long as it leads to a big fight for cotto, if he wins of course. floyd, pacroid rematch, plasterito rematch should be next after jcc jr. if not then martinez, williams or angulo
Judging by your post, you don't think Jr. has a shot ey??? He's going to win and win BIG! I'm a huge COTTO fan but ARUM and TOP RANK are a joke! HBO has nothing to do with this fight mate. Both COTTO and Jr. fight under the TOP RANK banner. ARUM treats COTTO like crap and only cares about PACQUIAO. Just by MARGACHEETO getting a fight with PAC tells us that. right? Anyway, If this fight happens, Jr. will most likely stop my boy. COTTO doesn't belong above 147. He should be fighting BERTO or ANGLU.
When a bigger man fights a smaller man, 9 times out 10, the bigger man wins. PERIOD! CHAVEZ knows how to fight. It doesn't matter what his flaws are because the ones he has are minor and easily fixable man. His defense has improved a lot and has been decent to start. He fights out of a tight guard and is VERY DISCIPLINED in the ring. DUDDY was a c-level fighter but you have to know what to watch. I was watching how CHAVEZ fluidly threw smart well-thought out combinations to the head and body. He has an excellent upside and trust me, this fight is a no win for COTTO! CHAVEZ'S size will wear him down. He's short and doesn't have the natural size to compete at 154. You can't always go by names man. He belongs at 147, I don't care how hard he can punch! Ala TRINIDAD, MELDRICK TAYLOR, HOYA, MICHAEL SPINKS,CHAVEZ @ 147 against HOYA. I am one of the fairest when giving an opinion about fighters. Most on this site just say things because they like one guy or the other. This entire thread has been dominated by those who are just looking at COTTO'S name and resume' and not the details about his opponents.
