    Can't agree, it puts you off balance, and makes you do an extra step backwards with your back foot. Only fighters with very crisp footwork are effective with it. But they are very susceptible against swarmers who will keep them on that back foot.

      Anyway, I am surprised you even follow up this thread, Gorilla Dogs boxing knowledge is about as good as his physics.

        Hardly the best move in boxing. Try using the shoulder roll in a fight and see how many hooks you roll your face right into.

        Shoulder roll can be a great movie if you master it. But, if any fighter is just gonna try and shoulder roll... well goodnight.
