Comments Thread For: Most exciting fighter is not Pacquiao or some overrated hispanic

The most exciting fighter in recent times is a slick African American by the name of Floyd Mayweather Jr and the proof is in the numbers.

Mosley vs. Mayweather = 1.5 Million PPV Buys
Marquez vs. Mayweather = 1 Million PPV Buys
Hatton vs. Mayweather = 950,00 PPV Buys
De La hoya vs. Mayweather = 2.5 Million PPV Buys

Men lie, women lie, numbers don't. If Mayweather wasn't the most exciting fighter for the past 4 years, then why is he the biggest attraction in boxing? Haters can't face the fact that his fights are exciting and that's why consumers keep buy them. People don't pay for boring and thats why they pay for Mayweather.

Mayweather's "personality" taps into the casual audience....which make up a large portion of those numbers.

people buy his fight to watch him lose, oscar was the reason that fight did so well btw

pac has the most fans worldwide so he is more populer

nah, Mayweather certainly is the most popular active fighter in the USA.

What people dont put together a lot of the time is that those PPV numbers are only for the USA, arent they? maybe Britain has some influenece over them too, but thats it.

The Klitschko bros get HUGE ratings on non-PPV television in Germany, and Pacquiao is of course worshipped in the Phillipines...Mayweather definitely isnt more well known than them in those regions.

so it becomes kind of difficult to say 'The most popular fighter in the world' sort of thing. theres no true way to measure it.

lets just say that Mayweather is at least in the top 5, and leave it at that.

Since numbers turn you on so much, here you go:

                    2, 7, 9, 4, 2, 5, 6, 1, 34, 1290, 240, 199, 87, 892, 008

The rest of us will watch boxing while you pleasure yourself to PPV stats. Have fun.
