    Would you take 8 million today if it costs you 25ish million about a year in the future especially when you can fight Baldomir and make a similar ammount in the mean time with no strings.

      Because Margarito would have beaten him & he knew it,there is no other reason why,at the time I believe that would have been his biggest payday too,so that excuse is out the window!!

        I can't predict him, but in this situation he was doing what any normal person would do, maximize what you can make and accomplish what is important to him.

        It is pretty simple really.

          I'll try to research him this weekend and see if I can't discover his philosophies and views on life, business and boxing

          Take 8 mil with NO STRINGS attached...for the UNIFIED WW Championship

            I was about to post this, thanks for saving me the effort. well said.

            Plus look at the $$$ Mayweather has been making lately compared to Pac's slave deal. It was a better business move that still worth it, but hey look at it this way 7, If Marg beats Pac the biggest fight in boxing would be Marg now, even if Mayweather fought Pac first he would still have to fight him. I still think May beats Marg though.

              This may be true, but what you have to remember, which very few people do, is that after the Judah fight, everyone and their mother was saying that Mayweather was ducking Baldomir, not Margarito. Hind sight is always 20/20.

                If Tony was good enough to beat Floyd he would have killed Mosley.

                Baldomir= 8 million...NO STRINGS...UNIFIED WW title

                Margarito=8 million MORE STRINGS THAN A HARP...WBO crap-strap.

                Floyd had just bought-out his contract with Top Rank...then Arum offers him a MULTI fight offer...that's a ****** move.

                    It was possibly the best $750,000 ever spent, atleast in recent times.

                    I have never understood why people thnk Margarito is some big issue for Floyd, I jsut don't see it. I could be wrong but until I see that I am sticking to how I view it currently.

                      Stop hyping that slow-ass pinata just because Nanny is fighting him.

                      Floyd was throwing Shane around the ring..

                      Shane was throwing Tony around the ring..

                      Mayweather would slice Margarito like deli ham
