I dunno if you had this programme in the States, it was a dubbed Japanese series that was highly popular in the UK during the 70s/80s. Afficionados will note that this is the second Pigsy:

It was basically a show about four travellers looking for some sacred texts, but you didn't realise that when you were ten.

When you were ten you thrilled to a series that had a funky disco theme song, a man who flew around on a magic cloud and at least three fights scenes a week.
