i disagree with everyone about taylor/hopkins

    everyone is screaming roberry
or that taylor won. i scored
every round and my score came out
to a draw. no one won that fight
it was dead even with taylor winning
the early rounds and hopkins winning
    the later ones.

Your right, people are throwing around terms like robbery, the fight was basically a draw-a tale of two fights.

      NOTE****

A fight cannot be labeled a robbery when 50% of the people think one guy won and 50% of the people think the other guy won...

How the **** is this a robbery?

Bingo. I have been saying this. It's just ****** to say that. Just like the Mayorga-Forrest rematch. Time to stop cryin' about it. There were no robberies here.

You divided three judges in two halves? I take your point though.

I thought Forrest beat Mayorga in the 2nd fight. It was very close but I slightly give him the edge. Thats also scoring it non biast even though I like Vernon.

People are just pissed that they were wrong and aren't man enough to admit it. Simple as that. Hey I picked Ruiz to beat Toney, nothing wrong with being wrong.

                hmm

Yeah but if you like Forrest, it's almost certain that you will score for him since the fight was VERY close. Just like I liked Mayorga more, and I had him the slight winner. It's hard to give it to the other guy when the fight is very close.

My point though is that fight wasn't a ROBBERY, and neither was this one. Would you agree with that?

after watching this fight twice more, i have to just come out and say it...hopkins was robbed. He COMPLETELY controlled the tempo of the fight and did what he wanted to do when he wanted to do it, making Taylor look foolish in the process. Taylor missed so many lunging rights, had a largely ineffective jab and was countered with regularity from hopkins rights. I saw all this happening at the time of the fight, but was partially distracted by the Taylor nut-huggers in the room who were TOTALLY distracted by the ridiculously pro-taylor commentary from HBO. There was rarely a moment in that fight where Taylor didn't look foolish for his eagerness. He was missing left and right (due to Hopkins brilliant defense) and getting countered for much of the first 8 rounds and got demolished in the last 4. I have it at a solid 116-112 Hopkins. I still say he should have turned it up earlier or just closed the show, but as it was, he did more than enough to win the fight. It's a shame his record is blemished now.
