    Martinez and Pirog

I really like both fighters, and would hate seeing them fight, but I believe that they must fight to unify.

That said, I feel Pirog may be a little too slow for Martinez, just a tad, but with more power. I cant choose a winner here, but with a gun pointed to my head I would pick Martinez by very close UD or SD. That said, I would not root for either in this fight.

Just an awesome fight on the horizon.

I rewatched Pirog and Jacobs tonight (without the alcohol effect)..I gots to say, Martinez takes him out. Pirog has a great switchup style but plods with the jab to much and when he leans after punching, he does so without blocking the side that he leans to...Martinez will tag him doing that. I noticed how he does not really follow through with the jab at times, I feel Martinez will capitalize on that and hit him with the right frequently during the fight.

Martinez, above all, has far more experience than Pirog and will has the ability to make subtle adjustments to win..Pirog is a very well rounded fighter but just as his style is difficult for fighters to figure out- Martinez's experience will allow him to confuse Pirog and make the subtle adjustments to win.

I like them both but I'd lean towards Pirog. He has really good footwork, upperbody movement, defense and doesn't tire. Martinez is more elusive then your average fighter but he still tends to get hit a lot, we also have to take into account that Pirog is a lot bigger then Martinez; so he's most likely not even gonna feel Martinez's power. Martinez is gonna have to land a lot of shots to do damage and with Pirog's defense, that ain't gonna happen.

Also Pirog has a really good body attack and Martinez is known to get tired in the later half of the fight. I look at all of Martinez's weaknesses and I really do see Pirog exploting them. For one, Martinez does too much moving; a lot of wasted motion. Pirog is gonna be landing jabs to the head and body and timing him.

To put it simple, Pirog ain't no one dimensional Kelly Pavlik who was still able to time Martinez and win some of the middle rounds. I see Martinez getting dropped once or twice and losing a U.D, I'm that confident.

The key to beating Martinez is PRESSURE.

Pirog's unique elusive pressure style would give Martinez A LOT of problems.

Pirog by UD or late stoppage.
