I think Ortiz is upset that he's now pushed to the back of the line and GBP is really high on Khan right now.

I believe Ortiz realizes what he did was "***** like" quitting against Maidana and I don't always believe in the "once a quitter always a quitter" notion. He seems like he really wants to redeem himself and he knows that even if he beats Alexander, Bradley, and Khan in a row, the public will still not fully respect until be beat Maidana, the guy he quit against.

GBP was ready to push him to the moon, but he knows he blew it in a fight that he was ahead in and could have still won if he weathered the storm.

        Ortiz needs a new trainer.

He has no choice, but to redeem himself against Maidana in a rematch. He needs to fight him soon and beat him because people are always going to bring that fight up when they talk about Ortiz. He needs to beat him before any of the other top guys at 140 beat him because people are going to try to discredit his win, if Maidana loses to any of the top guys. Ortiz probably feels bad he had his chance to make a name for himself and blew it by quitting.

There's no excuse for quitting. He needs to dominate again and earn the chance to redeem himself. Begging doesn't mean ****.

Show everyone you're still "vicious" Victor. That means boxing peoples heads off and putting them on the mat.

Ortiz is certainly one of the most talented at 140, and soon to be p4p at 147 if he chooses.

I agree. There's no excuse for quitting, but if a fighter is willing to work even harder than before to redeem himself, I say he deserves a second chance. After quitting like that, it would take more than one good performance to redeem himself, but Ortiz deserves another shot at Maidana.
