Instead of a Super Six they should do an elite eight or something along those lines. Bute should have been in the super six and I think as loaded as 118 is they are short changing a few fighters and the tourney itself.

        I would include:
        1. Darchinyan-just on name and style alone
        2. Hasegawa
        3. Perez
        4. Mares
        5. Agbecko
        6. Donaire
        7. Montiel
        8. Moreno

and keep guys like Arce, Morel, Ceremo, and Rigondeaux as possible subs pending any of the guys dropping out.

I think Montiel will be the hardest to get in FWIW but I honestly think the best chance to get him and Nonito is if they plan to start the Tourney early next year. That way Arum will get his super fight between Donaire and Montiel. I think this is the sole reason Top Rank declined because they want to cash out on this in house fight but after that is done and all the Top guys are in the Tourney I believe Arum will allow his guys in. Just my opinion though.

Also I think having 8 will also be better as we see something that is similar but at the same time different than the super six. Also starting it next year will allow them adequate time to iron out the particulars and make sure the tourney runs smoothly. I personally think they could pull off an 8 man round robin as they guys fight a lot more frequently than guys at SMW and I could even see these guys having matches that are 2 or at the latest 4 months apart (as compared to SMW, who due to being bigger punchers, fight 6-8 months apart on average).

I disagree with putting in Darchinyan and leaving out Cermeno.

Cermeno has not only done more at 118 but is the better fighter.

Bantamweight is deep enough and has enough names where you can make it an 12 man tourney. Even if Montiel and Donaire won't be in you still could make it a 6-8 man tourney. That is how deep the best division in all of boxing is.

True and I see your point, but I was just looking at this purely form the perspective of making it the most competitive and best available fighters.

If anything, I'd expect Vic to get in and not Cermeno.
