Are you fcuking dense? The thread clearly says: Has Mayweather handled his career well or not? Not has he had a bad career.

Larry, people talk about him in a negative light, not a good one, you think that bodes well for how he will be rated historically, in the hearts of fans when he has retired for good?

I see a lot of people being really vague about this. What should he have done differently? What did he need to do to make him the best fighter of his era in your eyes?

I think he should have fought more frequently. He should have fought Cotto when he was still the Terminator. But other than Cotto and Pacquiao, who has he not fought that you feel he should have?

And that's just regarding his legacy. If his goal was just to make money, then mission accomplished.

By going on what most boxer fans think of Mayweather I would say no.

Like the OP stated he has this ducking tag.

Mayweather never lived up to his true potential.

He could have handled a lot of things better, but you can't argue with the incredible amount of money he has made. And the bottom line in boxing is winning titles and making money.

What i would say to that is, i dont know specifically, but its one of those things where by when you get a tag, it stays with you, whether it be justified or not, which it has been in Mayweather's case imo, but it will be hard to eradicate Because!!! its a tag, its one of those things that people like to use as a stick to beat you with, like a fighter who has 1/2 boring fights, that tag stays with him, even if his performances pick up.

People when talking about Mayweather have said he should have fought Mosley earlier. He retired and ducked Margarito and Cotto.

People bring up making Hatton fight at the weight Hatton was not a great at.

Mayweather could and would have beaten Margarito and Cotto. It is just a shame he didn't step up.
