That's whats great about boxing. After you box for a long time (which he has), you start to make things up in the ring that no one teaches. And all of a sudden you get good at it.

And than you confuse opponents with it. Because there is no sparring partners who can replicate it.

This is one of the reasons boxing is aka the "sweet science."

his defense is much better, but he takes too much punishment nevertheless to dish out his own

with that said, their defense is cbasically (technically) the same : use the left shoulder (like Mayweather ) and keep the right hand near the left side of the jaw in case something gets past the shoulder

Pirog's footwork for example is awkward, not in the sense that it is unique, but in the sense that it is all wrong

my comparison is pretty legit if you look closely

as for his fluidity... well... let's say he does well despite his awkwardness and totally impossible footwork

It was his defense that reminded me of Froch. I sensed the same kind of ****iness in both their body language. Their way of movement in their defenses is not the style you expect from a tall, white, lanky, european fighter (no offense) was what made me compare the two. Pirog is obviously better than Froch, but it's like they have the same mind but in two different bodies.
