How the hell can people be saying Taylor won the fight. If a 26 year old can't dominate a 40 year old guy, he can't win. Even if Taylor/Hopkins happens again, and Taylor gets another gift, he won't be a 10th of the champion that Hopkins has been for the last 10 years.
Hopkins showed he was every bit as fast, at 40, as Taylor is in his prime. In 5 years, people won't even know who Taylor is.
He's overrated.Comment

the question is, did hopkins did enough in rounds 9-12 to win it? im curious how compubox recorded the punches thrown & the punches landed of both fighters. if hopkins should have been the winner, it's not going to be a 116-112, i think it should have been 115-113 or 115-114.Comment

Bernard Hopkins has been my favorite fighter for a while. (Ever since I really started to get into boxing.) I agree with what the first two judges scored the fight. I believe that Hopkins won a few rounds and Taylor won a few rounds, but how the third judge scored the fight was way wrong. Everyone knew that Hopkins won the 12th round except for ONE judge. If that judge would've scored the 12th round for Hopkins, it would have been a draw. And that's how I think the fight should've been scored.Comment

This is where I don't like the 10 point must system a whole lot. Bernard landed more punches, period. He also landed more EFFECTIVE punches, too. He even had Jermain hurt, twice. Jermain never hurt Bernard, but still won a majority of the rounds because he was the aggressor. I think some judges need to decided what is more important. The more effective punches being thrown and landed or being the more aggressive person in the fight.Comment
