Cause of how outrageous the promo is. Apparently Sergio Mora is a Mexican legend in waiting who is trying to achieve immortality. Seriously. Apparently millions of Mexicans are aware of Mora's existence. Whodathunkit.

Mosley's minimum is way too high to have it on regular HBO BAD or Championship Boxing...especially if he doesn't have another supporting headliner...which Mora is far from being..

this comes off sounding worse than it actually is. berto was saying he wanted 50/ 50. which wasn't outrageous at all as he was going to be the one putting his belt up and mosley had just came off of being dominated.

But Berto isn't an elite fighter yet. He's lucky to even get a fight like this. He should just take what he's offered. He had no problem with it prior to the Quintana fight, so what's different now? I hope he doesn't think KOing Quintana made him an elite boxer or something...

As for this PPV, I think it'll be a lot better than last night's. Does anyone remember Mora's last fight on the Hopkins-Jones undercard? That fight was a complete WAR for the first few rounds. Perhaps fighting Vivian Harris will make Ortiz come out of that safety mode and become vicious again. And if he does, then this will be interesting. As for Canelo's fight, as long as it isn't Baldomir it'll be good. But if it is, it'll be load of crap.

Overall I agree that its not PPV material though.

            Interesting promo.

Why is it that only Black* guys can beat Shane Mosley?

            *yes, he is.

People who buy this PPV should be shot on sight. Only making things worse for the sport by supporting greedy promoters. This should be nothing more than a FNF much less an HBO PPV...

It's not quite that simplistic. Many people forget that there are many numbers between 40% and 50%.

                But I understand your point.

I COMPLETELY disagree. These types of events are made for PPV.

How does Mosley/Mora being on PPV negatively impact the boxing community...please explain.

well, berto has the wbc world championship belt, has beaten two welterweight gatekeepers and says he is trying to get the big fights.

even those that still view mosley as an elite fighter should accept that his career is coming to an end and the best business move for hbo would be for berto to carry the card and beat him.

berto was ringside for that beating mayweather gave mosley. to watch that old rag get thrown around the ring and then earn more money than him to secure a championship fight for his belt must have inspired berto to raise his asking percentage.

Because nobody will see it. This fight's nothing special, I won't pay 50 bucks for it, and neither will the general public. It's bad business. I'm not a huge ufc fan but when I'm flipping around and see a fight I usually checkout the action and become familiar with the fighters and the product, making me more inclined to buy a ppv involving the participants. Mosley looked terrible against Mayweather, Mora's lost his popularity since the contender what do they have to offer? Put it on FNF at least it serves it's purpose and gets some attention there.
