Wow, this fight is gonna be debated for YEARS....

it was SOOO close, as soon as the decision came tonight tho,

im now anicipating: Hopkins vs. Taylor 2 "Will The Legacy Prevail"

just think, if Hopkins comes back in the rematch and wins, retires... that just blows my mind!

I dont think this was a super high profile fight because neither guy is in his prime so I dont think it will be debated for years to come

if he beats Taylor in the rematch hes #1 Middlweight of all time in my book. I dont judge Ray Robinson cause i never saw him fight and when he fought it was an era when fighters when and worked in contruction in the day and had their championship fight that same night

You don't rate a fighter if you haven't seen him? So you don't say "Hopkins is the best in my book, with the possible exception of..." You say he's no good because you personally haven't watched him?

This is like that old philosophical debate of falling trees making a noise when no one can hear them... is Sugar Ray Robinson a good boxer if Otto Evans has never bothered to track down a few tapes?

If BHop wins a rematch he will lose to Winky, but that fight will never happen because it would never be appealing. Ive always thought he was overrated, especially after seeing his fight with DLH. He may have destroyed Tito, Winky did the same thing though. I think he is a very good fighter and a hall of famer because of what he did with the title defenses, but an all time great? I dont know. Just my opinion anyway. BTW I thought this before tonights fight.

he's already stated he won't fight Winky and to be honest, i think his best options now are to best Taylor in a rematch, and retire in glory.

                    are you ******ed?

okay.. consider sugar ray robinson fought 3 fights in 21 days and 2 fights in 8 days in one stretch... not only is he one of the greatest middleweight champs.. he's one of the greatest welterweight champs!!

Amature record of 85 straight wins...
of those... 69 knock outs... of those 40 in the first round!

at one point he had a PRO record of 128-1-2 with 84 knockouts
                    including a 91 fight winning-streak

He was never knocked out in 25 years...
He was ambidextrous... could knock people out with both hands... BOTH HANDS! Jermain Taylor woulda been knocked out in the first 30 seconds!!!

I think you need to reconsider your position.

(sorry i had all these stats i actually did a research paper on Sugar Ray Robinson hahaha)
