Pacquiao is going to destroy Margarito. But I expect that Margarito is going to seriously **** Pacquiao's face up. As slow as Margarito is in comparison to Manny, he is still going to be able to land flush at times, definitely more than Joshua Clottey.

pacquiao doesn't handle 147 punches well.
i mean he has a chin and can handle it but his skin doesn't. he bruises up easily from 147 guys punches.

don't you guys remember david diaz going a few rounds with pac?
now pac is gonna blow out marg in 5-6? crazy talk.
if pac blows out marg in 5-6 rounds , marg is either really , really shot or pac took the super , extra strength A-PLUS side meth and used plaster in his handwraps.
No ****.

But just look at things this way. Every shot Mosley landed on Margo hurt him. I mean the first shot he landed in the first round pushed him back pretty far. Sure Pacquiao doesn't have as much one punch KO power as Mosley, but he's much quicker, has much better footwork right now and will hit Margo with shots he will not see. Those will be just as deadly as Mosley's were, and they will come even quicker and more often. He also won't get tired like Mosley did. And how will Margo stop him from landing? He moves at a snail pace and has absolutely no defense whatsoever. And I dare anyone to say Cotto would have made it past the 7th round if he had continued to fight the way he was in rounds 1-4. He was running for a reason. So imagine what will happen to someone who's not going to run away at all, and has a ruined chin. And let's not even bring up the fact that Margo has fought only once in the past 1 1/2 years.
And we can even forget about Margo's last two fights. Have you seen a prime Margo at 154? He didn't look anywhere near as good as he did when he moved back down. And again, that's a prime Margo.Last edited by BoxerDood; 07-31-2010, 02:30 PM.

Correction...
He didn't hit Shane with much of anything. Shane even said so in subsequent interviews... something along the lines of "even if he had them in his wraps, he didn't hit me much at all"

BoxerDood,
We have to think Margarito's camp is planning on Pacquiao to fight that way. If they aren't , then they deserve to lose. But if they are, then it's going to be a whole different monster of a fight we'll be looking at.
Margarito's nothing like Pacquiao's ever fought before and bigger. What if Margarito's plan is to tie up Pacquiao and try to get him into a Ward/Green style of fight. Margarito at least knows how to cut off the ring and shove opponents towards the ropes.
Just saying, we can't count the dude out before we give him a chance. I don't know who wins this or how and I'm not gonna dare and make a prediction. I'm just hoping for a good fight since we can't see Pacquiao v. Mayweather.

Maybe its time he starts to use plaster in his gloves cuz' he ain't impressing nobody with those whopping 11 k.o's.
Sounds like sour g****s from a sore loser.Originally posted by ELHURACAN58 View PostBradley thinks Margarito sees Pacquaio as a father figure.
No surprise, both of em beat Cotto, and may have cheated in doing so.

Originally posted by BoxerDood View PostBut honestly, what else is he gonna do besides brawl? Outbox Pacquiao? Pac has every single advantage in the book aside from size. But size won't help very much if you have no way to use it as an advantage. If Margo tries to box, once he sees how horribly that works out, he'll be forced to fight and that's where he starts getting caught with everything Pac throws and eventually stopped. Heck, he'd get caught with everything Pac throws even if he boxed. And even if he cuts off the ring, what is he gonna do next? Pac can take a punch, and he WILL beat Margo in an exchange. He'll also punish him. Margo doesn't hit as hard as Cotto (and we have Clottey as a witness to that), and the only reason he was able to knock fighters out was because of his accuracy, which came from his ability to walk through punches and land whatever he wants. But now that he can't do that, he's completely lost his chance there, especially since he's a very slow puncher.
Either way, I understand your theories and respect your boxing knowledge. But at the same time, ask yourself if you have ever counted a fighter out, left him for dead only to see him prevail under extraordinary circumstances. This may not fall in that category, but we don't know that... Yet.
