"goes life & death with Oleg" ??? Did you watch the fight? There was nothing life & death about that fight, I agree Peter is lucky to get this shot but when he fought Maskaev before the Vitali fight he hurt him around the 3rd round and from there on Oleg wasn't in the fight at all, it was just a matter of time til he got KO'd

As for me being ridiculous, it's very many years since anyone has said that of me, and I'll leave you to refer to me as you wish. Call me what you will, I know more about boxing than practically eveyone on this site, having been fighter judge, trainer and etc over many years, having seen the best. And spoken with a few of them.

Peter has been hampered by his overweight in many of the important fights, also denoting less than optimum condition, which caused him to fade in later rounds, His 3 losses are a good example. Weighing 20 or more pounds lighter, he'll be able to move faster, as well as, by very virtue of his effort to achieve trimness, being much more fit than usual with him.

If you understand that, well and good, if you don't, well.....you will some day....maybe.

we're not talking about ordinary losses

in Peter's case, he was shut out and beaten up to the point he quit against Vitali
that's no ordinary loss M. know-it-all, that is debilitating physically and mentally

despite putting a good effort against Wlad, he took a lot of punishment in that fight too

he looked finished when he fought a just as finished Maskaev

every trainer in the world knows each serious beating takes a toll on a fighter

when he fought Wlad for the first time, Peter hadn't taken those beatings

so in the end, it's not because he is 7 pounds lighter than he was the first time that he will be better, there are many more aspects that come into play

your level of modesty is what it is, I won't comment too much on it, but I'll say one thing : if it is true that you have judged fights in the past (which thing I already doubt a lot, people tend to have achieved a lot on the Internet), well that is a pity, because having as much bias as you have, I wouldn't want you to judge any fight (your legendary and undeniable ''fanboyism'' for the Klitschkos being the biggest reason for not wanting you to get involved in the sport in any way)

they were both just very sloppy

you are right, Peter didn't struggle to beat Maskaev, he didn't have to despite his poor conditioning and performance, because Peter had a dead man in front of him

If Peter came in at 225lbs and trained like his life depended on a win he'd still be beaten. If he wins this fight it will be a bigger upset that Lewis vs Rahman 1.

Sam Peter is the best HW out there. He'll win by early KO.
