I will admit, I was never a Mayweather fan. I thought he ducked the best fighters, excuse after excuse. After Floyd agreed to fight Mosley, showed adversity after the 2nd round and put on a boxing clinic, I realized how good Floyd really is. Before watching the fight I would have bet everything I owned on Pacquiao to beat Mayweather. After the Mosley fight I was torn, and now feel it could go either way if they were to fight.
My problem with Floyd is who will he fight now? He's consistently ducked the best. Margarito, Cotto and now Pacquiao. He could have been the first to expose Margarito and Cotto, and his reputation and legacy would have GREATLY benefited from beating those guys. Fighting them now will still be positive for his career, but will not have near the impact they could have had if he would have taken a chance. He waits around for these fighters to eventually lose and then claims they don't belong in the ring with him because he has a perfect record. It's gotten really sad and honestly anyone who takes Mayweather seriously at this point has got to be kidding themselves.
Mayweather... grow some balls and fight someone worth a damn IN THEIR PRIME. Mayweather will always be the fighter who ducked the best and hand picked his opponents... UNTIL he steps up and fights someone who poses a serious threat. Until then, we wait and watch him strategically make excuses and lay back while his reputation is beginning to diminish. He has mocked boxing, turned his back on the sport and unless he backs up his talk, he will always be a 'could have been' all-time great.
