Speaking only for myself, as a Chicano, my mom was born and raised in Mexico and I spent a lot of time growing up visiting family in Mexico. I learned Spanish before I learned English. You may not realize it, but a lot of Mexican-Americans here feel and are treated like outsiders (some may say otherwise).

But whatever, we're not Mexican enough for you and not American enough for the United States. Who gives a ****. We're still proud of who we are.

See know when you put it this way I respectfully understand and have no problem with it. I honestly don't have a problem with chicanos.
