One of the things I love about this sport is, literally, anything can happen; but in this case, I think the obvious will prevail. No disrespect to Margarito; but he's as slow as Christmas. Mosely made him look like he was fighting underwater and Pacman is faster than Sugar Shane. Antonio will try to rough Pac up, push him around, corner him, and impose his overall strength; but it will prove to be a futile effort as Pacquiao's superior boxing skills and far superb speed end up deciding the day. In my opinion, this fight will be very one-sided after the third and Tony will be lucky to hear the final bell.

Now, that being said, while I'm glad two of the division's elite....even though they're fighting slightly north of 147...are facing each other, the fact of the matter is there is only ONE fight....ONE contest of the manly art at Welterweight that should be being discussed. Mayweather and Pacquiao.....and this fight doesn't take place, it will belong among the biggest travesties in the history of "shoulda-beens" in the history of the sport.

      Good action but easy win

Not that i will watch, wont pay to see that vile **** Marg fight again he is a disgrace. Kinda dissapointed in Pac or taking the fight also, there are better options so why give the cheat his best possible payday

I do not see Pac knocking Margo out in 7 or 8, as you said.

Cotto has his advantages, as you said, but there are some advantages that Margo has that Cotto didn't. First of all, the fight will be at 150+lbs. Cotto's fight was at 145. Also Margo, being bigger than Cotto, will more than likely fill out more than a Cotto and come in at 160 or possibly more. At 150+, Margo will not feel drained out like he may have at 147. So Margo will have major height, weight and reach advantages.

Going back to that knock out you predicted. While Manny did do some serious damage, he has yet to KO anyone at WW. So now add the fact that Margo is bigger than his previous opponents plus the fact that Margo has a great chin, I don't see Manny being able to KO Margo.

Another possible advantage, is that Manny does not do much holding. Mosley, on the other hand, as one of his tactics, held Margo to avoid punches. That was one of Cotto's biggest mistakes (vs Margo)! I hope Roach gives Manny a few pointers on that as it can come in handy.

Add the fact that Margo has heart, motivation and no quit in him, makes this an interesting fight.

Manny will need to use his speed advantage and land some clean shots to get respect. It takes a little more for Margo (than other fighters) to give his opponents respect ....

There's a reason why mayweather is so SHOOK of the feared Margarito, check his face after Tony confronts him - they have to stop the interview because floyd gets so paranoid. It's hilarious! LOL!!

95% of people are saying tony will get slaughtered and this fight is easy and a disgrace.
One thing i do know is this is NOT an easy fight and it will be an all-out war whilst it lasts.

Two true ring warriors going toe-2-toe, what more do you haters want?

The thing most people are missing is that this is an exciting, entertaining, crowd-pleasing fight. Yes we would rather see the best vs. the best but floyd is too scared to step up. It takes two to make a fight. What do you guys want? Manny to turn up to floyds house and beat him up while buboy films it! lol
Williams, Martinez, Angulo, Martirosyan, are all better than Margarito at 154.

At Welterweight, Mosley and Berto are much better opponents than Margarito at this point as well.

Margarito is not the toughest challenge out there. Probably the one that brings in the most money. Def not the toughest.

It's whatever, Pacquiaos is a prize fighter. Real Prizefighters fight for money, so i'm not mad at that. My beef is the fight being at 150 for the WBC title. Pacquiao can fight Paulie Malignaggi for all I care if that brings the most money for him then take the damn fight; it's him putting his health on the line for a living. The "well we pay to see him" line is played out. You're not forced to pay anything, you do it by your choice.

The only entertainment in this is we get to see Manny dish out a can of ass whopping. Cotto's stamina was his downfall, Manny has tremendous stamina and no way Manny's going to stand there and take those vicious uppercuts like Cotto. Manny by UD with Margarito's face like a battered fish or Manny by TKO by Margarito's face like a battered fish. Either way expect to not recognize Margarito after the fight, Manny will take some punishment aswell.

Pac is mch faster and a much better boxer, and he doesn't gas like Cotto does, so I'm prediciting he will win. But Margarito is an immensely strong fighter, who is much bigger and can really throw to the body and also uppercuts up the middle which I have seen Manny open to.

I think Pac will win though. If he wasn't such a freak stamina-wise and wasn't so durable I would give Margarito an excellent chance of coming over the top of him late and really belting him, but Manny has actually gotten more strong and durable as an older man fighting at a higher weight that he is small for than as a younger man fighting at a weight/s he was very big for. Maybe cutting weight really affected him.

Margo is going to keep hearing how he is going to be annihilated for the next 3+ months. If anybody else here knows tony this is really going to amp up his camp. He's a big strong azz dude and he's going to keep coming forward. I just don't see him forcing manny to fight backing up due to manny's footwork. At least not for the first 2/3 of the fight. And that's if it lasts that long. He'll obviously get outboxed all night long. Is his granite chin what it was before the cotto n mosley fights? I don't think it is and that's a big part of his offense as it allows him to keep coming forward beating u down in the process. Im looking forward to this fight. t's def going to be war in that ring!

I attributed the lethargic performance against Paul Williams to Paul Williams but even though he was fighting at a high level versus Cintron and Cotto, I detected some slippage. I also feel like the war with Cotto (and the innumerable ones before) took something significant from him--down to his hunger and drive. What's transpired since hasn't been good. I doubt at this stage Margarito can get up for one last great performance, especially against a magnificent fighter at his peak. It is highly unlikely.
maybe this will be his last hurrah so we can expect he'll give it all

Packy can beat Marg as long as he stays with his gameplan, can't be too confident or else Marg will take advantage esp during championship rounds

both have relentless offense while Pac has the speed advantage, Marg has the power edge IMO
