A big complaint of boxing fans is that there are too many alphabet champions. It seems like the Ring's titles and ratings are fairly well respected.
One thing I don't understand is how The Ring can have legitimate rankings when they are owned by Golden Boy Enterprises.
It's an obvious conflict of interest. The same way we wouldn't have the ********** or ********ic National Committee counting ballots in an election. Or I wouldn't necessarily trust a movie review from a journalist that worked for the same corporation that produced the movie.
I'm not saying that The Ring has a hidden agenda. I believe The Ring attempts to be impartial. But in a sport where rankings and titles are so important (to what fights a fighter can get and how much money he can get), it seems obvious that having one of the biggest promotional companies making decisions on rankings and titles creates the perception of unfairness.
