You've hit on a very important point about Oscar and his choice of opponents which I've written about before, but which nobody ever seems to comment on.

That is, that Oscar carefully selected his opponents, just like Mayweather does. There used to be all kinds of comments from journalists and analystists about it.

His first near-backfire was in chosing Ike Quartey. His second, and the biggest. was in chosing Felix Trinidad, whom he believed to be weight drained and dehydrated, from making weight, and whose ribs stuck out like a starving man's. etc. He was certain that he was much better than Mosley, who, on the night, outsped and outpunched him. By then he had no ZERO to protect, but ONLY chose opponents he was sure he could beat.

It stopped working for him.

I have no objection to a fighter doing this, after all, it's business, and preserving a ZERO losses is important, and part of his stock-in-trade,........except when he PR's himself as fighting EVERYBODY and only the BEST.....etc.
