  • Comments Thread For: Mayweather-Pacquiao: Tax Troubles, Roger's Legal Mess

Tax issues and the legal problems facing his uncle and trainer Roger Mayweather may have caused Floyd Mayweather Jr. not to fight pound-for-pound king and “Fighter of the Decade” Manny Pacquiao on the planned November 13 date at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Lawyers have a way of being able to postpone trials and court dates. So that's bull**** #1.

#2. Bush's Tax cuts for the rich are expected to expire at year's end. (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/25/us...ics/25tax.html). Floyd WILL be getting taxed more on his earnings and estate next year.

    any other excuses?

The thing with his uncle I can understand, but that's not a reason to not make the fight. You're telling me a guy with Floyd's money can't find a lawyer that can postpone his going to jail?

And the taxes bullsh** is plain ******ed. He's getting taxed on what he makes from the Mosley fight too, would Floyd rather make 20-25 million for one fight or 70 million from two fights? That's just a load of horsesh**.

He ducked. Neither of these reasons are anything close to a reason to completely avoid Pacquiao.

              Garbage , pure Garbage!!!

Hey Ronnie why don't you just come out and ask Manny for a job , enough with the adulation and one sided stories. Really , if you are going to write articles please, pleaseeee , make them worthwhile articles and stop being so biased. Every time I read one of your articles is like reading the National Enquirer!!!! Garbage , pure garbage. Come on and write something that is really worth reading and maybe the readers will take you seriously, right now you are the joke of Boxing Scene "Pound per pound Writer of the decade".

                Make Sense to me!

I figured the reason why the fight wouldnt happen this year was because of the taxation of the money that Floyd has made. This is another reason why the 2 or 3 top fighters at the top level of this sport only fights once or twice a year. Its to legally evading having to pay alot of taxes in one year. It makes sense to fight once a year when you are making $40MIL+ a year.

****ing ducking thats it. either way floyd will get taxed 33/35 percent or whatever the tax rate is. he will get taxed like what 15m in the pac fight? either way its the same, he gets it done this year or next

AFTER ALL THE TALK *****s and the mayweather camp have done, they have no resorted to tax excuses to duck the number 1 pound for pound.
