Since Floyd is Single and not married and his income is $373,651+ he would get taxed 35% of his income at his tax bracket.

Lets say he made $50 million for each fight

If both were fought this year it would be $100million - Taxes = $65,000,000

Fought once this year and once next year

    2010 $50million - Taxes = 32,500,000
    +
    2011 $50million - Taxes = 32,500,000
    =
    $65,000,000

Hmmm Im not a genius or anything but the numbers in the bold look the same

i'm not buying that "tax" **** either......

why everybody seems to be lying about this whole situation, beats me...

It's possible that the rate will increase next year to 39%. If that does happen, it could look like this:

              2010 $50million - Taxes = 32,500,000
              +
              2011 $50million - Taxes = 30,500,000
              =
              $63,000,000

If this is true, then he'll actually make less money by delaying the fight until next year. So I'm not sold on taxes being the reason that the fight wasn't made. There could be other factors that we don't know about, but since we don't know about them, we can't really factor them into the equation.

According to the I.R.S, anyone in the US making over $373,560 is taxed 35%. So whether u make $100mil, or $500k, the tax rate stays the same.

                  you dont know?

here's a guess: Team Mayweather and GBP are trying to find the best ways not to look like vaginas as Floyd has indicated that he doesnt want to fight PAC

it pains floyd to part ways with 35% of his earnings and he's probably thinking that he's being duped by the american government lol. such greed and yet too ignorant of the law. floyd should hire an accountant or a tax advisor maybe...that too comes with a cost but at least the benefits are so much higher than spend $50,000 for an ipod
