PPV, US style - shocking prices

I had a great time in the US a couple of months ago and was surprised to find everything so cheap.

But I read this week that PPV in the US is around $50. Is this correct?

That makes it c. £35... yet we only pay £15 (c. $26) for PPV over here. That said, Don King always prices his matches out of the UK market. (though that could be a good thing, right?)

Great post. The prices are way to high. I use to steal cabel so I got the fights for free, but I dont do it anymore and theres noway I would pay 50 for a fight that I can see on tv the following week, but I would pay 25

I would get a lot more fights for 25 than I would for 50 or 45.

I guess that means I have a downward sloping demand curve.

and they wonder why boxing is on the decrease.

Nah, that makes no sense - it's on a decrease over here, too. Though Amir Khan has made the amateur game popular.

Yea PPV prices are a pain in the ass. But I do give HBO alot of credit for showing the replays a week after.

We get the one week after replays over here too.

Our PPV price actually includes two screenings. You can watch it in the evening and then again the next morning should you wish. Do you have the same set-up?

Uhhh..i think they replay the ppv right after it first airs. At least that is what they do with the wrestling ppvs and i think they do the same with the boxing ones.

Yea that is a great way to do it but unfortunatley I dont have ten friends that are boxing junkies like myself. So it ends up being just being my one other friend and we end up splitting it 25 a peice which is better than paying the full 50 myself
