Its A Sad Time To Be A Boxing Fan.

    What has boxing come to?

The biggest fight in the last 20 years clearly and arguably the biggest fight in the history of the sport dosent happen over what?

Drug test? Money split? Since when do fighters pass on the biggest fights of thier careers, fights that could soildify thier status as an ATG in many eys for such reasons?

Fighters fight for titles in weight classes they're not really fighting at? Using catch weights as a "handicap"??? Just my thoughts here, but if you need to handicap a fighter through weight then why are you fighting that huigh anyway?

They tease us with the thoughts of putting these fights together, then they fall out and end pick a sparring partner instead and put the **** on PPV for 60 bucks. If youre gonna do that, atleast put on boxing after dark and call it what it is, a tune up. Do it in 3 months and then get back to making that fight happen.

Guys like Bradley and Pwill are deemed "most feared" and "ducked" because they dont get fights with super stars who have proved themselves throught thier career to achieve superstar status. Who in thoer right mind honestly thinks Bradley would last more than 1 round with Pac? Pwill has the fight of his life against Martinez his (toughest opponent to date) arguably loses and then does what...Calls out Pac? Cant be serious.

Heavywieght division is more boring than WNBA. Klitchs are surely great fighters but theyre so damn boring its hurting the sport. If only guys like Aerolla had the physical tools to contend.

Fighters are underachieving at a all time high. Chad Dawson is on the brink of being forgotten, Pavlik seems to have loss all desire to be great after Bhop, Bhop is still fighting and they actually putting the **** on PPV!!!

UFC is not a higher quality product than Boxing IMO, its just that its more accessible and the fights that you would actually want to see and make the most sense actually happen. A Lesnar,Penn and silvia on the same card would sell half as much or sell half as manny PPVs as a card with Floyd,Pac, and 2 up in comers like Khan, ortiz, pwill, and another vet like cotto ,ssm.

    Just my thoughts.

I dont want to hear none of this "boxing is alive and not dying" bull***** because clearly it is. If promoters and networks don't wake the **** up soon, the only boxing we'll be able to see is at the YMCA

1 out of 10 is being generous.

Not the way this **** works Burner. Without stars to draw in casual fans who get exposed to lesser known fighters, the sport loses steam and interest falls. Then networks won't have any incentive to carry the sport as it costs more than it would generate. What happened to the HW division could happen to the sport in general.

I never said it was "Dead", Im saying it isnt where it should and could be.

Boxing could be as primetime or main stream as Football and Basketball if we had better marketing of fighters and promotion.

If you want to admit it or not, UFC is mainstream at this point. More people know who Brock Lesnar, Bj Penn, Anderson Silvia,Rashawn Evans,Rampage Jackson,Coture are than the Manny,Floyd,Kiltchs, Pwill,Cotto, Mosley, Marquez.

Why? Shows like the ultimate fighter, free cards more often than PPV cards, reairs 2-3 times a week along with knock out compliations, its also available on basic cable.

I hate MMA, but theres no dispiuting its the more popular of the 2 sports right now.
