I don't know if any of you guys hit a brick wall when it comes to paying for fights but I have hit it and I am done with it. I was looking forward to purchasing this Saturdays card but I started thinking, is 3 hours of boxing truly worth 65 dollars and the answer is just no. One of the reasons we don't get the fights we want is because there is so much money being slinged around and I kind of feel like saying no to PPVs not only helps my pocket book but it helps the sport in general move closer to getting its **** together. I don't want to pay high amounts for fights anymore and have even thought about dropping SHO, but I have decided to keep that, but I refuse to buy ppv fights anymore, just too damn pricey. For a long time I bought PPVs so my boys could come over, enjoy the fights, and get my major drink on but it doesn't make sense anymore to do this. Even if my favorite fighters are duking it out I will probably go to one of these 2 dollar websites and stream it. Even if Pac/May put their bull**** aside they are not going to get my money any longer.
I'm done buying PPVs for good.

depends on how you look at things I suppose.
I'm buying saturday's card because, well, it's a great card. Every fight is a good fight.
On top of that, I really haven't bought too many PPV's this year. I mean seriously, there haven't been many in 2010.
There were much more PPV's in 2009 and 2008 that's for sure.Comment

Your right, boxing promoters are vigorously sodomizing fans and we like their bitches just go to the sex shop and purchase the lube for the deed.Comment

Im with you. I was actually one of the few fools out there that ordered JONES-HOPKINS 2. EEEK! Yea, I was a sucker for boxing. Not anymore.
I've been a fan of Mayweather for the last 13 years or so, but I've grown tired of his antics and indifference towards boxing.
I'm tired of new cats like JuanMa and Tim Bradley enrolling in the school of MAYWEATHER and HOPKINS.
I'm tired of wasting my money on wack ass ppv cards with terrible undercards.
For years I've been wanting to see a STACKED card and still haven't seen one.
Competitive boxing is getting worse and worse. I remember back when Shane Mosley fought five times in one calendar year.
Young guys don't seem hungry like that anymore. 1-2 times a year is the norm theese days.
It's sad.Comment

Usually a few friends come over and watch but rarely do they pay, so why should I bother? I liked them coming over because it is much more fun to have someone to converse about the sport and can have conversations about up coming fights. If I don't purchase the fights any longer they will not follow the sport but I think I'm okay with that. If I start streaming, yes I will start watching fights alone, which I am alright with.
You're right and this is the route I will go. I want to see all the fights but I don't want to fork over the cash any longer. There may of not been many PPVs this year but I just don't see the point in it, especially when boxing networks(SHO and HBO) get 500 dollars a year from me. Put in some PPV's with that 500 dollars, you're looking at 800 dollars a year that I could be spending on rent or something. Just ain't worth it any longer and this is coming from a guy that has bought Latin Fury, the Holyfield/Valuev fight and almost any second tier ppv in the last 4 years.Comment
