I don't know if ducking slick black american boxers is a fair term. I would say top rank has been better at matching manny then murad muhammad was. They have been careful not to put manny in with any slick boxers, other than mexicans, who tend to brawl or fight more. This is why, IMO, yuri foreman was "too tall" for manny yet maragrito, who is the same height, is not. Bob made that mistake with kelly pavlik. Manny brings in enough money that top rank doesn't necessarily have to put him in with a boxer.

and you do know that it was latinos (mostly mexicans) who ruled 130 and below right? last i checked, 80% of pacs fight was fought there..

but the way you talk, you sound like pac is a career welter..

pac tried to make a fight with the best african american fighter in this generation. I dont see how pac is ducking alexander and bradley when these guys are just building their names. Berto is the other possibility williams is not a welterweight.

name me these slick defensive fighters you talk about.

I never understood why Pac is so fearful of African-American fighters. In the past year, he has dodged fights with FIVE of them.

Shane begged and was willing to go to 140.
              Bradley
              Williams
              Berto

...and you have to give Pac some shared responsibility for the Mayweather nonfight.

Prior to that, Pac blatantly avoided Joan Guzman (a stylish Dominican)

WHile I don't agree with the thread, its hard to argue with the fact that boxers are lacking from manny's resume. Mosley and yuri foreman were turned down immediately. Nate Campbell was not given a sniff. Zahir Raheem was not either, although I would've fought Morales again and Diaz because they were far more lucrative.

But the question is do you think he will ever fight an african american fighter- more specific a "slick" fighter that can "float like a butterfly and sting like a bee"?
Are you serious? Who cares? Clottey doesn't count because he is actually from Africa? That's so asinine that I cannot even think of an analogue to express it!

Within the black community there is a clear distinction between africans (ie from Africa) , caribbeans (jamaica) and black americans (US citizens). While I know this may be hard for you to understand or comprehend the division, trust me the issue is big.

When someone posts "slick black americans" (meldrick taylor, sweet pea, leonard, ali, floyd) they tend to be more athletic boxers, not saying the other groups don't have that. Conversely, african boxers (clottey, quartey, nelson) are not US born and bred boxers.
