I am sick of hearing how amazing cards UFC is doing and how boxing is not giving the fans the fights they want to see. Floyd Mayweather Jr. himself earned more money in his last two fights than all the fighters in the UFC combined made in 2009. Floyd earned approximately $60,000,000, while the UFC on average only gives out about $800,000 to fighters for each show. Everyone gives so much credit to Dana White for putting these cards and fights together and yet he is completely ripping off his fighters. The reality is that you may not like the current boxing business because it does not give you stacked cards and two or three big fights on each card. But one thing that is for sure about this model is the elite fighters get the money they deserve. This business model shows the star power of a Mayweather, Pacquiao, Hatton, and Cotto can draw single handedly based just off of their name.
People need to understand Boxing is a business.

Yes this.
The UFC is trying to sell it's brand, not the fighters names. Meaning the UFC >> any fighter no matter how popular. Their motto is, if you're not part of the UFC - the NBA/NFL/NHL of MMA, you're not bigtime.
Which is essentially why Dana White doesn't like Fedor, who tried to co-promote with the UFC instead of just signing up and joining them.Comment

Your missing the point the reason the sport is run the way it is and the reason you get the fights and the cards the way they are is because of this. The business model and how it breaks down for each fighter economically.Comment

You spend all of this time complaining about the fights and cards you get and this is the reason why you get them because fighters with huge stardom are guaranteed so much money that they can not afford to put a good undercard together.Comment

Well yes, agreed.
Essentially bigtime boxing is becoming nothing but celebrity boxing. It's all about PPV's, Arum didn't consider P.Will's credential's as a fighter but his drawing power as a excuse not to fight him, and have Pacquiao fight the guy Williams beat years ago in Margarito.Comment

What they make is their issue and I don't care about that, what I do care about is getting the fights I want.
I wouldn't pay for a Big Mac when I ordered a Subway sandwich and I won't pay for some **** fight I didn't want to see because some diva didn't want to agree to some term and as a result I couldn't get the fight I wanted.Comment

That may be the reason, but that doesn't make it a good reason.Comment
