It's a bull**** match on so many levels...
That bastard shouldn't even be boxing again, let alone cashing in on
Pacquiao. That he should be in line to fight for an artificially vacant
belt just makes it more farcical.
But throw out the consideration of the belt, and the distasteful way
that Top rank is keeping all matches in-house. Consider it from a
medium-term POV:
Does it not qualify as a tuneup, prefatory to a 154 campaign by Pac?
If Floyd was given slack for dragging a smallish past-prime JMM up a
number of weight classes (because it was a "tuneup", and also made
tactical, strategic and financial sense) --even if it had all the air of
farcical mismatch-- then why not give it to Pacquiao?
If it's just a tuneup, it's not really MEANT to be another brick in Pac's
wall of accomplishment --merely mortar (or plaster if you like), no?
Just a tuneup and an opportunity to try to make some money too.
