Eh fwiw, Soto gets man handled by any of these real lightweights. Soto doesn't even belong in this division.

And I think the main set up was supposed to be Soto vs Valero (rip).

And that fight was made for Valero by Arum and Top Rank, they were gonna sacrifice Soto for Valero for Edwin's coming out party. They convinced Soto to leave the super featherweight division and everything. But now Soto is sitting by himself, protected. It won't last forever though.

Soto can't beat any of the names at lightweight.

Probably not but no shame in that as he really doesn't belong in the division like you said.

Wasn't there actually some talk not long ago of Soto moving up again to 140?

Yeah I'm just saying he was set up by Top Rank from the start as a lamb for Valero. Now Soto is just sitting in a bad situation for himself since he was never a lightweight to begin with.

I can't remember if there were talks about him moving that far up.

Damn right more BS from TR. They give veteran titles and then when there is hype in the air, they'll make that veteran fight the hype, give him a title and everyone will love him. Gamboa & Lopez are those hypes. They need to fight Celestino!!

Nah man, Arum and co-promoters are making too much money from Soto right now.

They actually convinced Valero to vacate his belt right after the DeMarco fight to set Soto up for a vacant title at 135 against David Diaz. Valero was going to move up and fight Lamont Peterson for his first fight at 140 on HBO.

After the shell of Jesus Chavez pushed Soto around like his son (it looked a lot like Margarito-Garcia), they were not gonna throw in Soto against what was a buzz saw in Valero.
