Slow down. Do you have any proof to back up your statement?

Bob Arum and his Top Rank round robin tournaments will not get a dime from me.

Margarito Confirms Next Bout, Will Not Appear at Hearing!

February 22, 2010 by Felipe Leon

According to Dan Antuna of Tijuana newspaper Frontera, Antonio Margarito confirmed his next bout for May 8th in Aguascalientes, MX. After his bid to fight on the March 13th fight card in Dallas, TX, was not solidfied, the “Tijuana Tornado” will still face Carson Jones at the yearly state fair held in that Mexican city.

“The fight in May is confirmed directly from Bob Arum of Top Rank. He also assured me a fight with Manny Pacquiao in November,” Margarito stated.

He also mentioned that he would not be appearing at a hearing to solicit his license from the California State Atlethic Commission.

“Arum recommended me not to go, he said that I complied with teh sanction and they should give me the lincense without attending and audience,” he explained.

Margarito has been training at the Azteca Gym and the Mojac Gym, both in Tijuana.

      Margarito Steals Show

Despite being out of the ring for a little over a year after being suspended by the California State Athletic Comission for illegal hand wraps in his bout with Shane Mosley, Margarito’s popularity has not diminished in his hometown of Tijuana.

Last Saturday night, Margarito attended the local fight card at the Mariano Matamoros Gym and he was bombarded by the amassed fight fans in hopes of attaining a photo or autograph from the three time welterweight champion.

Paper plates, napkins, t-shirts, business cards and even a pair of pants were put in front of the “Tijuana Tornado” for him to emblazone with his signature.

Once the fight card was over, Margarito stayed 40 minutes after to accomodate all the fight fans that were vying for a little face time.

It'll will never end with this kind of standard, meanwhile Pac can fight all these bums in a row and it's ok.
I said that he had to fight at least ONE of those three, learn to read dude! He said he wanted to fight the best, beat the best and be the best. Those are the best opponents in the 147 to 154 lb weight class. Pacman never claimed to the best, Floyd Jr. did.

This was all contingent that Floyd Jr. turned down the fight. Dan Rafael basically proved on FNF that Arum conversed with Greenburg and he thought they were negotiating, so talks DID occur. The thing is Floyd Jr. got so much **** for his "I am not even thinking about boxing, I want to relax" BS that Team Money came out with this 'no negotiations ever occurred' schtick to deflect the blame from Floyd. By the way, if Jr. only fights for money, why turn down an approx $60 million or more? I'll tell you why, his '0' is more important than money...
