What you have to realize my man is Floyd studies you and if you get a good shot on him. You may get it once or twice but after that he creates the right angle and plays it safe to ensure your most effective weapon doesn't hit him again. If you watch the Judah fight for a prime example, Judah caught Floyd with some good straight lefts but after may adjusted never again was he caught with that same punch from a guy like Judah who had tremendous speed. So what seems simple to you and obvious why other guys dont try this you need to understand one thing about Mayweather that makes him so special. He has quick hands and body movements. So when you trying to land a looping hook to the body he will move and have you swining for air. He also has very quick hands that may pop you with a jab or a hook like he hit Hatton with and also he may crowd you so your punch is ineffective. Its like hes played these scenarios through his mind countless times and knows how to adjust to whatever you are trying to do to him. Sad they when he retires for good we will not only lose a gifted athlete but also one who out thinks his opponents on a regular basis.
They say the JAB

The best boxer jab wise Floyd faced recently was probably Oscar, who had success with it but gave up throwing it!!Tall fighters who have good jabs will always give shorter fighters problems!!That May be the reason Floyd really hasn't fought any tall fighters at 147 besides Oscar who was 154!!Martinez & Cintron are 2 tall fighters with good jabs, even Cotto has a good jab, that's another reason I believe that if Cotto-Floyd happens,Cotto's jab may be the great neutralizer we haven't seen against Floyd!!
Mosley isn't a jabber, neither Hatton,Marquez's hands were just too short,Baldomir can't be called an elite boxer,Sharmba was also small,Judah may have won if he could fight more than 4 rounds!!I guarantee Floyd will have problems if he faced a really good jab from a taller fighter,or a jab from Cotto, who for a fighter Floyd's size is the only other really good jabber at 147-154 that I can think of at the moment!!Comment

Lol nice description. Those are bull**** pawing jabs that mother****ers just throw out there to measure distance. Like Shane Mosley was like "la di da let me just paw this jab out there so I can set up my right hand" then BAM he gets a straight right in his face. You gotta jab like you mean it mother****er.Comment

I think a really good jab is a good starting point to get at floyd but he'll start timing it. You gotta come with more than that obviously. When you have great fighters boxing is more complicated than Rock, Paper, Scissors.Comment

roACH ALREADY HAS THE BLUEPRINT TO BEAT KFC !!! AND THE CHICKEN KNOWS IT THATS WHY HE RAN LIKE A COWARD FROM THIS FIGHT. THE OSCAR FIGHT PROVES ROACH IS ON THE RIGHT TRACK ONLY IF OSCAR WASNT ALREADY IN HIS 40S WHEN HE FIGHTED THAT SUCKA HE WOULD OF EASILY WON. THE OSCAR FIGTH WAS VERY VERY CLOSE IT COULDA WENT EITHER WAY !!!!Comment

Anyone who has boxed will tell you why the jab (a good left hand, period) is the key to being floyd.
It's because your right hand is virtually ineffective when he stands side ways and should rolls like that. You have to punch across your own body with your right hand to make any significant contact otherwise you will be hitting him in the back of his head, or his back (and risk being warned then DQ'd).
this is why southpaws have always looked better against floyd.. because their power hand is where a conventional jab is.Comment
