That's a really strong jab. However it didn't hit Briggs square on. Briggs took a dive for an easy pay cheque, robbing Green and the fans of a decent fight.

My initial reaction was that Briggs felt that jab to the midsection by Green. So I'm ONLY assuming that he could have felt that badly and just knelt down to the canvas.
