Comments Thread For: Mayweather Blames Beard For "Scared" Hatton's Loss

During a recent interview with Chris Robinson of The Examiner, trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. blamed Hatton's co-trainer at the time, Lee Beard, for the loss to Manny Pacquiao in May 2009. Mayweather trained Hatton for the fight and Beard served as the co-trainer. Hatton was knocked out by Pacquiao in two rounds.

Hatton weight drained himself to death, he only has himself to blame.

There were conflicts in training between Beard and Floyd Sr. I read they were trying to teach Hatton separate things. Floyd Sr. wasn't turning up on time because he spent too long getting his lunch and Hatton's training camp was a complete wreck.

However even if the above didn't happen Pacquiao would still have torn Hatton apart.

If Hatton was going to hire Floyd Sr. then he should have gone 100% with what he told him to do, win or lose.

Having Lee Beard there to put in his 2 cents just messed everything up. You know that old saying, too many cooks spoil the broth.

Hatton would have lost anyway, but he did look confused if he should box or brawl.

He said he peaked and reached weight 3 weeks before the fight and Sr over trained him and he admitted to getting his ass kicked in sparring.
