History will remember floyd more kindly if he fought Pacquiao and lost

rather than not fight him at all and keep his zero.

Historically speaking, a great boxer losing to another great boxer does not hurt one's legacy. its evidence that the guy is willing to fight the best available to him.

ali talked a lot of smack, but he did it while facing not just the best heavyweights of his era, but the the best heavyweights period.

this is a fight that would stop the world, even non-boxing fans are interested in this fight.

the fact that floyd is making this fight as hard as possible to make, then ultimately saying he's not interested has left a sour taste in my mouth.

calling yourself money while going to vacation on the perfect opportunity to get your highest pay day is contradicting to the image he has tried to project in the media.

floyd should realize that he had an opportunity to be a part of something that is way more valuable than his perfect record.

win, lose, or draw, he would have been part of boxing history, when two of the best fighters, in their prime, of one era fought for all the marbles.

he had a chance for boxing immortality. and he decided he is not interested.

as a mayweather fan, i'd much rather see them fight, and floyd lose, than they not fight at all.

it's ridiculous these guys can't come to some sort of comrpomise and get this thing made.

to your thread tho, history will remember manny more kindly if they don't fight, rather than manny take the fight and lose.

Floyd will alway be remember for ducking Margarito and Cotto in 07-08. Now he will be remember for ducking Pac also.

        i disagree.

him losing to a fellow atg doesn't take away his past accomplishments.

although them not fighting is gonna hurt floyd more than its gonna hurt manny.

the thing is, he had every opportunity to disprove that.

him taking the pacquiao fight would make some of us forgive his so called "ducking".

manny is a draw, was willing to take the tests that would satisfy him, and the purse split no matter what it is, would give him the highest pay day of his career.

people should really stop giving excuses why he doesn't want the fight.

reasons why they should fight outweighs the reason why floyd should'nt

I gotta agree if he were to fight Pac and lose, then let's say comeback and beat martinez, then yes Floyd gains the respect of a lot of boxing fans. Rather than ducking Pac and later going straight for martinez. Pac is known as the man right now and to not fight him while making excuses is making everyone call him out rightfully so!

we can only measure how great a fighter is when he is taken to the limits and come back better than before.

floyd's reason for not wanting this fight doesn't fly.

We'll see. Though i don't particularly like Floyd jr., he's rather unpredictable and constantly surprises me with his antics. We'll know in ten years how things pan out for him.

I absolutely agree w/this view. Imo, Floyd is wasting a great gift, alot of effort and an outstanding boxing pedigree. It's a shame.
